Ms. Young, a licensed interior designer, has extensive experience as a senior-level project manager and designer, having overseen projects throughout the southeastern United States from the conceptual stages through contract administration to furniture procurement and implementation. She has performed these services as owner of her own interior design firm, as well as at a variety of design firms in Nashville, Tennessee, Tampa, Florida, Raleigh, and Chapel Hill, North Carolina since 1982. Ms. Young has developed particular expertise in health care design for major hospital institutions, assisted living facilities, and other specialty clinics. In addition, Ms. Young serves as a guest instructor at several colleges of design. Ms. Young has been a frequent guest lecturer, having given more than 26 lectures and presentations on her own research and a variety of interior design and space planning topics to professional organizations. Ms. Young has completed five research studies on health care-related topics over the past six years and continues to research.
